Kendwa

The Kendwa beach, which takes its name from the village that overlooks the beach, is located on the west coast in the next to the northern tip of the island. The beach is not very long but you can do anyway peaceful stroll on the soft white sand of which it is constituted. Here are some resorts to the Beach Resort (Eden Village) where I stayed. Often touted as the most beautiful island it is, in my opinion, the same level as many other, except that here, thanks to the shape of the seabed, the effect of the tides is contained, moreover, being exposed to the west, you can admire amazing sunsets, Along the beach are inevitably present hawkers, artisans, sellers of souvenirs, beach boys, etc. Despite all this, we must say that these aspects do not alter the beauty of this sinuous coral beach. Further north in the direction of the northernmost point of the island, we find the village of Nungwi, simple fishing village that has become quite famous and well known thanks to the presence of some resorts along its varied coastline consists of rocky stretches alternating with small white sand beaches blending light colors of sand to dark ones of the rock and the sea turquoise.

Mnemba

The excursion to the island of Mnemba and its surroundings is recommended. The island is located along the east coast, not far from the coast and near the northern tip of the island. It is part of a vast marine park protected even if the island is private and can not be unloaded. Typically it start from Kendwa or Nangwi and before long you reach the island surroundings. Near the coast and in protected ocean area is good snorkeling among coral and anemones rich sea of tropical fish. Concluded snorkeling, hiking proceed taking on the coast of Zanzibar Mnemba front. Here we are in a stretch of deserted coast with a very long white beach of soft coral sand. After a lunch on the beach organized to better fit, there is so much time to walk, away from the world, bathing, sunbathing (scorching) and enjoy the beautiful nature of these places.

Blue Safari

The Safari Blue is an excursion that advise you to do, which is expected to reach the town of Fumba, south of the airport, and then embark aboard a motorized dhow (a traditional vessel of the African coast of the Indian Ocean) and reach the island of Kwale where to see some natural beauty. It starts with a large enclosed lagoon between the rocks and mangroves, only accessible from the sea through small openings where the boats are caught and then stop and allow tourists to bathe in transparent water of low predominantly green tones and surrounded by mushroom-shaped rock formations that emerge here and there in the lagoon. The tour continues on a strip of sand that is near the island which appears and disappears depending on the tide. The beauty of the situation is partly overshadowed by the increasingly large presence of tourists who share the few square meters available ... .. The island of Kwale has a long and beautiful white sand beach where some huts in the shadow of our guides organized a meal of lobster and fish dishes eaten in such a context have sealed a truly lovely day. In addition, the island is home to a centuries-old baobab from truly incredible size that is to say of the premises, is the oldest existing baobab.

Inside island

The interior of the island of Zanzibar offers the opportunity to visit the capital Stone Town and get in touch with the people to discover the true culture and traditions even if what matters most here is the struggle for survival.
In Stone Town you can visit the Christian cathedral dedicated to St. Joseph, the area in memory of the end of slavery, the Palace of Wonders seat of the colonial government and now a museum and the Arab fortress with the little that remains enclosed in a wall now almost devoid of architecture, fortress transformed into a bazaar. The heart of the city consists of narrow streets with shops of various kinds many of them tourist while it seems more genuine the covered market (old market) very characteristic. Often the guides point out the house where the famous singer Freddie Mercury (real name Farrokh Bulsara), the legendary leader of the Queen, where, in reality, there is nothing to see ...
An interesting excursion is the one that allows you to get in touch with local people through the knowledge of some customs, lifestyles, activities, etc. Visiting some interior villages are gathered patriarchal aspects of the organization of families and villages, as realize the simple huts where they live the simple daily life habits, the production processes for small objects of everyday products or processes to be then sell like the strings drawn from coconut. It must be said that in all cases the one who always stands out is the great poverty of these people living in conditions that we would be considered inhuman and that's why I donate to them, especially for the many children, T-shirts, pens , notebooks, pencils, erasers and other small things is the equivalent of great gifts, so if you go to Zanzibar do not forget there to bring many of these things.

Small faces

It is an album of photos taken on different occasions or circumstances that provide for children and young people in moments of everyday life, so busy playing, run, talk, play, etc.
Children are fascinating subjects in these parts of Africa, are spontaneous, towards foreigners have no difficulty to smile and to be involved. The poverty that characterizes these peoples is manifested in children through their looks, attitudes, to the surprise for a small gift, to the simplicity with which they play with anything and everything satisfied.
